ABOUT THE OUTPOST
A
The Outpost lies in the Makuleke Contractual Park, a vast and remote wilderness area bordered to the north by the Limpopo River and Zimbabwe and to the east by Crooks Corner and Mozambique.
The lodge is built with a contemporary and tasteful design that is emphasized by the beauty of the surrounding bush. The use of clean symmetrical lines and the combination of unconventional elements such as steel and concrete creates a luxurious yet unassuming look. Distinctive touches include Nguni cowhides on the ottomans and colourful pillows.
On arrival guests are welcomed into the main building and are treated to the openness and extensive views that embody The Outpost. The modern bar is a focal point and defines the lounge and dining areas, which offer a cool relaxing alternative to the daybeds and chairs on the terrace overlooking the swimming pool. The lounge is flanked by a large book case with an extensive and varied selection of books.
The main building is connected to 12 stand-alone Luxury Suites, accommodating 24 guests along a Zimbabwean teak walkway.
These contemporary Luxury Suites have been cleverly designed, making full use of space, concrete and steel with state-of the art retractable screens offering 180-degrees of uninterrupted views of the Luvuvhu River Valley.
The open feel of the room extends into a comfortable lounge and an award-winning bathroom (which can be screened off for privacy) with a stone bath and open shower boasting views extending as far as Mozambique.
The outdoor terrace with daybed offers full views of the surrounding bushveld, and is the perfect spot to while away the time soaking in this natural wonder.
