ABOUT JEMBISA SELF CATERING COTTAGES
The Palala River self catering cottages are situated in beautiful wilderness surrounds above the Palala River in the Waterberg region of the northern Limpopo province of South Africa. The reserve offers a wide range of wildlife and safari activities that are flexible to suit all ages and interests. Easily accessible from Johannesburg and malaria-free.
Scattered over the reserve in this wilderness area of outstanding natural beauty , the three self-catering Palala River cottages are all different and can accommodate couples looking for a romantic getaway to families after adventure and fun or groups of friends. All will enjoy the peace, beauty, wildlife, and opportunity to relax in comfortable, well-appointed lodges and excellent personal service.
Cell phone signal is limited on parts on the reserve
Please be aware that Jembisa Lodge and its facilities are reserved for exclusive use of Lodge guests who pay a premium for sole use of the Lodge. No visitors are permitted. The Lodge and Self-Catering accommodations are entirely separate entities.
Please note – there is no swimming pool at Podica and a high clearance vehicle is recommended to access the cottages as in places the roads are very rocky.
River Cottage
is an isolated cottage set in a beautiful spot, often visited by our resident rhino, and is right next to the Palala River. Perfect for a couple, the cottage sleeps two people (fixed double bed) with mosquito netting. It has a bathroom with bath and shower, lounge with fireplace and fully-kitted kitchen. Towels are also provided.
The Podica Chalets
are situated together in a quiet spot next to the Palala River and are all slightly different in terms of room configuration. The chalets have an open plan living area with bed(s), table and kitchenette. Each has a separate bathroom with a bath and an outside shower.
Each of the 3 chalets has its own individual braai area.
Kingfisher Cottage sleeps a maximum of 10 people in 3 twin rooms and 2 double rooms. The cottage has a comfortable living area with a fireplace place and dining table. There is also a plunge pool for your enjoyment. Towels are provided but you may want to bring additional towels for use by the pool.
Wood is available (at all chalets) for R20.00 per bundle as part of a work creation project which helps with conservation and reserve management.
