ABOUT OUR COMPANY
Cashan Africa began in 2011 as Cashan Tours it was then a one man gig aka Chris Green! In 2013 Chris was joined by Penny and the company was relaunched as Cashan Africa. We grew rapidly through 2014 -2016 taking one extra guides and in late 2019 formally linking up with a guide on Cape Town to create a solid local presence in the Western Cape. We run tours in Gauteng and cover Johannesburg, Soweto, Pretoria and the Cradle of Humankind. These by definition are historical cultural and Art/Architecture as well as the political history of the country. The Witwatersrand is a complex and densely populated part of South Africa and so holds great interest for a wide variety of visitors. The Cradle falls just beyond the cities outskirts, about 45 minutes from Sandton and contains one of the worlds greatest treasure troves of Human evolution, 13 caves and many other cave sites collapsed caves and paleontological sites. This Cradle is a World Heritage site it extends across 47 000 hectares and is also protected from development, so it's beautiful rolling hills will remain so in perpetuity.
Further afield we run Safaris to Pilanesberg and Madikwe in the North West province or else down to the world famous Kruger National Park. The trip down is dramatic and passes through the Panorama route over the high Mpumalanga Drakensberg Mountain range. Sometimes our guests choose to fly to one of 3 airports that serve the region and we meet them on arrival to transfer them to the park. The 'Lowveld' and the game parks are much as they were when the early pioneers travelled through the area, fearing attacks by marauding wild animals and hostile tribesmen. Nowadays it is peaceful and friendly. Lastly Cashan Africa takes tours to Kwa Zulu Natal, another world of culture, wild game, farming and the True Drakensberg whose basalt cliff tower up to 3000 metres and are surrounded by lower hills and rolling grassland and forests. KZN is a very rich and beautiful province, with a dramatic history and many cultures, today it is a varied and strong community who live in this unique and diverse part of the Country.
